Bhubaneswar: 22nd November 2023: In a move to streamline administrative responsibilities, the Odisha Government recently executed a minor bureaucratic reshuffle within the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Cadre. The General Administration and Public Grievances Department issued a notification highlighting the key changes made.
One of the significant adjustments involves Sujata R Karthikeyan, an esteemed IAS officer. The notification reveals that she has been entrusted with an additional charge – the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department. Currently serving as the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Mission Shakti Department, Karthikeyan’s expanded role demonstrates the government’s confidence in her abilities and expertise.
The additional charge granted to Sujata R Karthikeyan implies that she will be overseeing the affairs of the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department, alongside her existing responsibilities. This strategic decision highlights the government’s emphasis on promoting and preserving Odia culture and language.
With this reshuffle, the Odisha Government aims to ensure efficient management and coordination in both the Mission Shakti Department and the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department. Sujata R Karthikeyan, an experienced bureaucrat who joined the IAS in 2000, is well-equipped to handle the additional responsibility effectively.
The notification, which sanctions Sujata R Karthikeyan’s dual role, states, “Sujata Rout Karthikeyan, IAS (RR.2000), Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Department of Mission Shakti, is allowed to remain in the additional charge of Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department.”
This bureaucratic reshuffle showcases the government’s commitment to bolstering the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department. By entrusting Sujata R Karthikeyan with these crucial responsibilities, the government has expressed its confidence in her ability to drive meaningful advancements in the promotion and preservation of Odia culture and language.
As Odisha continues to strive for socio-cultural development, the appointment of Sujata R Karthikeyan to her additional charge emphasizes the government’s commitment to creating a strong administrative framework that supports various sectors of the state’s growth.
